Charles I (1625-1649), Group F, Type 4.4, Shilling, 1645-1646, 'Briot's' bust left, rev. square-topped shield over cross molin, 6.06g, 11h, m.m. sun (Sharp G2/2; Brooker 561-563; North 2231; Spink 2800), a magnificent portrait for issue, typically irregular and softly struck to peripheries but a fine survivor from the dying embers of Charles' rule, good very fine, seldom seen like this.
