Charles II (1660-1685), Crown, 1663 XV (4), first laureate and draped bust variety right, early ties, no frosting, rev. second revised crowned shields cruciform, seven strings to harp, lettered edge upwards, 29.21g, 6h (Bull 353; ESC 22), bruised, good to fair; others, similar, late ties, extra curl below C of CAROLVS, LV re-entered over higher V (2), rev., stops in legend, seven strings to harp, lettered edge upwards, 29.47g, 6h; lettered edge downwards, 29.13g, 6h (Bull 358; ESC 27), the first stained, both rubbed, fair to fine; lastly, extra curl on neck and another below C of CAROLVS, rev. no stops in legend, nine strings to harp, lettered edge downwards, 28.66g, 6h (Bull 359 [R3]; ESC 27A; Spink 3354), cleaned and rubbed, poor to fair, very rare; an interesting group (4).
Bull lists nine varieties of 1663 XV, and ESC lists seven, but none of them mention the curl on neck. Also, for Bull 358 - 361 there is no mention of frosting so it is not clear if there is frosting or not on the cloak.
