Charles II (1660-1685), Sixpence, 1676 over 5, laureate and draped bust right, rev. crowned shields cruciform, four strings to harp, interlocked Cs in angles, obliquely milled edge, 3.04g, 6h (Bull 570; ESC 1515A; Spink 3382), a trace of flecking, otherwise handsome cabinet tone overlying lustrous original surfaces, almost extremely fine, a delightful example of this conditionally challenging series.
