William III (1694-1702), Great Recoinage, London, Halfcrown, 1697 over 6 NONO, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. large crowned shields cruciform, late harp with seven strings, nine billets, lettered edge upwards, 15.05g, 6h (Adams 447; Bull 1024 [R2]; ESC 541A; Spink 3487), adjustment marks on drapery and corresponding area on reverse, lightly wiped but with subtle purplish-gray overtone, a pleasingly bold very fine, the overdate very clear and extremely rare, far scarcer than R2 would indicate.
