William III (1694-1702), 'Flaming Hair' Shilling, 1698, fourth laureate, draped and cuirassed bust, rev. no stop after HIB, crowned shields cruciform, six strings to harp, seven billets, edge obliquely milled, 5.94g, 5h (Pywell-Phillips 181; L'Abbaye 290; Bull 1141var.; ESC 1115; Spink 3515), slight flecking, otherwise rubbed but lustrous and darkly toned, almost very fine, scarce, especially with the reverse variety unnoted by Bull.
