William III (1694-1702), Great Recoinage, Exeter, Sixpences (11), 1696 (4), first laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. large crowned shields cruciform, early harp with three strings, eight billets, 2.97g, 6h, adjustment marks on French shield, toned, fine; another, three strings, eight billets, 2.86g, 6h; another, three strings, eight billets, 2.85g, 7h, off-struck, flecked on cheek, toned, good; and, rev. very small lettering, three strings, eight billets, 2.86g, 6h (Bull 1277; ESC 1537; Spink 3523), a broad striking with adjustment to peripheries, darkly cabinet toned, about very fine, rare, especially in this condition; additionally, 1697 (7), first bust, small crowns (5), five strings, six billets, 2.80g, 6h, scratched and granular surfaces, peripherally toned, fair; another, four [?] (only two visible), six billets, 3.20g, 6h (Bull 1281; ESC 1560), rubbed and flecked, about fine, scarce; also, Small 7 'Maundy Punch' (3), no strings visible, six billets, 2.83g, 6h, creased and damaged, fair; another, five strings, six [?] billets, 2.66g, 6h, polished and bent, flecked and pockmarked, otherwise struck details a bolder fine; lastly, four strings, seven billets, 3.00g, 6h (Bull 1283 [R2]; ESC 1560C; Spink 3534), creased and environmentally patinated, fair, all supposedly scarce; lastly, third bust, large crowns (2), four strings, six [?] billets, 2.77g, 6h, rubbed and waterworn, only good but rare; another, four strings, seven billets, 2.78g, 6h (Bull 1286; ESC 1571 [R3]; Spink 3541), a field find with superficial marks and of waterworn appearance, fair but very rare (11).
