William III (1694-1702), Sixpences (4), 1697, third laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. large crowned shields cruciform, four strings to harp, six billets, edge obliquely milled, 2.96g, 6h (Bull 1233; ESC 1566), flecked and flawed, otherwise lightly toned and lustrous, a really good very fine; also, 1698, similar, rev. four strings, seven billets, 2.76g, 6h (Bull 1243; ESC 1574), die break through GVL, otherwise toned, a pleasing fine, scarce; another, 1700, rev. four strings, six billets, 2.99g, 6h (Bull 1250; ESC 1579), harshly cleaned on obverse with superficial scratches, the reverse lightly retoned and residually lustrous, struck details a bolder very fine; lastly, 1701, rev. five strings, seven billets, 2.99g, 5h (Bull 1252; ESC 1581; Spink 3538), lightly toned and lustrous, a pleasingly good very fine (4).
