Anne (1702-1714), Post-Union, Edinburgh, Halfcrowns (5), 1707 SEXTO (2), second draped bust left, E below, rev. crowned shields cruciform, seven strings to harp, lettered edge downwards, 14.70g, 6h (Bull 1379; ESC 575), large flaw in French shield, rubbed and toned, otherwise fair / fine; another, similar, rev. seven strings, lettered edge downwards, 15.06g, 6h (Bull 1579; ESC 575), heavy adjustment marks, cleaned but lustrous, struck details, about very fine; also, 1708 E SEPTIMO (2), 'Z type 1', rev. Edinburgh local die, six strings to harp, 14.72g, 5h (Bull 1382; ESC 576), adjustment marks through Garter star, rubbed and lightly cleaned, now retoned, a bolder fine; another, 1708 E SEPTIMO, 'J type 1', as before, rev. seven strings, lettered edge 14.44g, 7h (Bull 1383 [R2]; ESC 576), cleaned with resultant hairlines, fair to almost fine, rare; lastly, 1709 E OCTAVO, similar, rev. struck en médaille, seven strings to harp, lettered edge upwards, 14.43g, 12h (Bull 1384 [R3]; ESC 580; Spink 3605), rubbed and cleaned, mediocre but very rare, and curiously struck with medal alignment (5).
