George I (1714-1727), 'South Sea Company' Halfcrown, 1723 DECIMO, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. crowned shields cruciform, SSC in angles, seven strings to harp, lettered edge upwards, 14.91g, 6h (Bull 1557; ESC 592; Spink 3643), light scratch on obverse befor mouth, deeper historic scratch in first quarter of reverse, otherwise residually lustrous and darkly toned, very fine, the reverse boldly so with colourful iridescence, a sought-after type in today's market place in advance of the looming Tercentenary.
