George II (1727-1760), 'Roses and Plumes' Crown, 1735 OCTAVO, young laureate, draped and cuirassed bust left, rev. 5 in date repunched, crowned shields cruciform, roses and plumes in angles, thirteen strings to harp, lettered edge downwards, no stop between OCTAVO and ANNO, 29.81g, 7h (Pywell-Phillips 308; Bull 1663; ESC 120; Spink 3686), lightly cleaned but residually lustrous, very fine, the reverse pleasing so.
