George II (1727-1760), 'Roses and Plumes' Crown, 1736 NONO, young laureate, draped and cuirassed bust left, rev. crowned shields cruciform, roses and plumes in angles, twelve strings to harp, lettered edge upwards, 30.01g, 6h (Pywell-Phillips 309; Bull 1664; ESC 121; Spink 3686), struck on a deficient flan with a striking split below truncation, light traces of wiping in obverse fields and adjustment on central devices, otherwise lustrous with purplish-hues on natural cabinet toning, struck details approaching extremely fine .
