George III (1760-1820), First Coinage, "Northumberland" Shilling, 1763, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. crowned shields cruciform, angles plain, eight strings to harp, seven hearts, edge obliquely milled, 5.84g, 6h (Bull 2124; ESC 1214; Spink 3742), pierced for use in jewellery, the surfaces flashed and gilt, strictly fine, a good opportunity for the type collector to source a prohibitively rare type.
