George I (1714-1727), 'Roses and Plumes' Shilling, 1718, first laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. four crowned shields cruciform, roses and plumes in angles, eight strings to harp, obliquely milled edge, 6.00g, 6h (Pywell-Phillips 270; Bull 1566 eight strings not noted; ESC 1165; Spink 3645), a touch of rub to higher points, otherwise toned, a bolder very fine, a scarce date in higher grades.
