George I (1714-1727), 'Roses and Plumes' Shilling, 1722, first laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. four crowned shields cruciform, roses and plumes in angles, six strings to harp, obliquely milled edge, 5.98g, 5h (Pywell-Phillips 274; Bull 1581; ESC 1174; Spink 3645), harshly cleaned on obverse, otherwise residually lustrous, the reverse toned, very fine or marginally better for strike.
