George II (1727-1760), 'Roses and Plumes' Shilling, 1729, normal 9, young laureate, draped and cuirassed bust left, rev. four crowned shields cruciform, double pearls in bands, roses and plumes in angles, eight strings to harp, obliquely milled edge, 5.93g, 6h (Pywell-Phillips 331; Bull 1700 eight strings not noted; ESC 1193; Spink 3698), lightly cleaned in obverse field and flaw to edge behind head, with rougher adjustment marks in the centre of the reverse, otherwise toned, strictly fine / a bolder fine, rare, perhaps rarer than indicated in ESC.
