Victoria (1837-1901), Shilling, 1867 [Die 20], Type A4, second young head left, plain on truncation, rev. crowned value in wreath, die number below ties, edge milled, 5.66g, 6h (Bull 3030; ESC 1315; Spink 3905), bright wiped, otherwise lustrous, struck details extremely fine, the collector's ticket notes this as a late striking due to die flawing on reverse, when in actual fact the sharpness of the portrait hairline is matched only by the strength of the familiar 'die clashing to which they allude.
Estimate: £50 - £80
