William III (1694-1702), 'Plumes' Sixpence, 1699, third bust right, rev. late harp, large crowns, four strings to harp, plumes in angles, obliquely milled edge, 3.06g, 6h (Bull 1245; ESC 1577 [R2]; Spink 3546), weakness to the first 9 in date and lightly flecked, otherwise lustrous and softly cabinet toned, an equally enchanting example of the Welsh Silver issue, a pleasingly good extremely fine, the reverse a touch softer, rare in this condition.
