George II (1727-1760), Sixpence, 1728, young laureate, draped and cuirassed bust left, rev. crowned cruciform shields, six strings to harp, plain in angles, obliquely milled edge, 2.99g, 6h (Bull 1736; ESC 1603 [R2]; Spink 3705), heavy flawing below bust with further adjustment marks and die breaks across fields, a trace of lined flecking to reverse, otherwise beautifully cabinet toned, further accentuated by bluish iridescence in recesses, pleasingly struck up, especially for this scarce seminal issue of reign, near extremely fine, rare, especially in this condition.
