Charles II (1660-1685), 'Plume on Reverse' Shilling, 1674, second laureate and draped bust variety right, rev. four crowned shields cruciform, plume in centre, six strings to harp, obliquely milled edge, 5.98g, 6h (Durlacher 350; Parsons 551b; Dalzell 91; Bull 528 [R4]; ESC 1041; Pywell-Phillips -; Spink 3377), touch of rub to high points with flecking in first and second quarter, otherwise with attractive blue toning in legends and residually lustrous, a pleasing very fine, extremely rare, only five traced with certainty by this cataloguer and this one of the finest.
