Charles II (1660-1685), Shilling, 1683, fourth laureate and draped bust right, rev. four crowned shields cruciform, six strings to harp, obliquely milled edge, 5.26g, 6h (Bull 558 [R2] six strings not noted; ESC 1065; Pywell-Phillips 72; Spink 3381), some flecking both sides, toned, a pleasing good very fine, rare.
The fourth bust was introduced late in the reign and was used only in 1683 and 1684. Bull describes thee distinct ringlets that 'extend below the drapery'. This is presumably an error.
Estimate: £400 - £600
