William III (1694-1702), York Shilling, 1696, first laureate, cuirassed and draped bust right, Y below, rev. four crowned shields cruciform, six strings to harp, nine billets, obliquely milled edge, 5.94g, 6h (Bull 1189, six strings not noted; ESC 1087; Spink 3503), some flecking both sides, and darker tone on the reverse, the obverse framed by residual flare, a bolder very fine.
