FRANCE: AE plaque (46.78g), 1911, 53x39mm silvered bronze award plaque for the Exposition Internationale du Nord de la France in Roubaix by Hippolyte Lefebvre, female figure with caduceus seated left above flying eagle right with EXPOSITION INTERNATIONALE / DU - NORD - DE LA FRANCE above and ROUBAIX / 1911 on shield right surrounded by laurel sprays with "(engraved) Th. L. CORBY / GORS CONCOURS / MEMBRE DU JURY" on cartouche at bottom // in plaquette at upper right, Pierre de Roubaix gives the city citizens a charter authorizing them to make sheets of woll on November 1, 1469 with " 1er Nne * 1469 / Pierre / de / Roubaix damianteux habitants / de sa ville la charte guiles autorise / a faire draps de mutes laines" above and below in Gothic script with with shield and cadaceus left, matte finish, tiny flan flaw on eagle's wing, nicely toned, BRONZE and triangle privy mark on edge, AU, R. Anextensive search of the internet revealed no examples of this plaque in silvered bronze.
