A scarce high denomination from Colombia in collectible Very Fine condition. Some skillfully executed repairs have enhanced the eye-appeal of this challenging type that represented quite a bit of money when it was in circulation. While the 1953 date is sometimes seen earlier dates of this type are much rarer, and precious few of this date have appeared at auction in the past decade. PMG mentions "Minor restoration".
