GALLANT NELSON DIED OCTR 21 1805 OFF CAPE TRAFALGAR, uniformed bust left / NELSONIC CRIMSON OAKES COMMENCED JANY 19 1808, various symbols: cross on three steps, anchor on three steps, Eye of Providence, moon, cluster of stars, sun, compass; all above Noah's ark below rainbow. The Nelsonic Crimson Oakes appears to have been a social organization. Though not directly related to the Masonic Order, their symbols dare certainly similar, and no doubt there was much overlap in the groups' members. They appear to have dissolved in 1927. Most of the known medals are pierced.
