Gupta Dynasty, Chandragupta II (Vikramaditya) (375-415 CE), Gold Dinar, "Archer" type, Obv: the king standing facing left, nimbate, wearing a cap with pearl string, holding a longbow in his left hand and an arrow in his right, a Garuda standard in the left field, the Brahmi legend "Chandra" below the king's arm, the Brahmi legend "Deva Shri maharajadhi(raja Shri Chandra)gupta" around the field, Rev: the goddess Lakshmi, nimbate, facing forward and seated in the Lalitasana posture on a three-petal lotus, holding a diadem in her right hand and a lotus in her left hand, whose stem is coming from inside the hand resting on her thigh, a tamgha in the left field, the Brahmi legend "Sri Vikramah" in the right field, a dotted border around the field, 7.88g, 19.32mm, (Altekar. Bayana Hoard # Pl. XII- 7/TGE, S. Kumar # Class. III-Var. I), sharp features, very attractive, choice extremely fine, Extremely Rare.

Note: This picturesque coin features the Queen seated on a five petalled-lotus (out of which only three petals are visible) and is a highly uncommon type. We have not offered this in past auctions. It is missing from various advanced Gupta coin collections.
