Edward IV, First Reign (1461-1470), "Heavy Coinage", Groat, 1461-1464, Class 1a, Tower, + EDWARD .' DI .' GRA .' REX .' ANGL .' S .' FRANC, crowned facing bust within tressure of arches, lis on neck, pellets by crown, rev. CIVITAS LONDON, long cross pattée, additional pellet in first and fourth quarter, 3.65g, 8h, m.m. cross pattée (Blunt & Whitton type biii; North 1529; Spink 1969), a touch off-struck to reverse, otherwise handsomely full and uniformly struck, bluish-grey tone from soil deposition, a really pleasingly good very fine, very rare, especially in this condition.
