James II (1685-1688), Halfcrown, 1686 TERTIO, first laureate bust left, rev. crowned cruciform shield, plain in angles, six strings to harp, lettered edge downwards, 6h, 14.95g (ESC 496; Bull 751; Spink 3408), adjustment marks through the date and English shield and traces of porosity on hair, otherwise residually lustrous with colourful retoning, struck details a bolder very fine, scarce.
