George I (1714-1727), 'South Sea Company' Shilling, 1723, first bust right, rev. crowned cruciform shields, SSC in angles, seven strings to harp, obliquely milled edge, 5.06g, 6h (ESC 1176; Bull 1586; Spink 3647), some faint surface marks to the obverse and adjustment marks to the reverse at 9 o'clock, otherwise attractively toned and the reverse with pleasingly frosted surfaces, extremely fine.
