George II (1727-1760), 'Roses and Plumes' Shilling, 1727, young laureate and draped bust left, rev. crowned cruciform shields, roses and plumes in angles, six strings to harp, obliquely milled edge, 6.03g, 6h (ESC 1190; Bull 1695; Spink 3698), metal flaw to nose and a touch of rub to the highest points, otherwise richly toned in hues of blue and lustrous, near extremely fine.
