George III (1760-1820), Pattern Halfpenny, 1790, by Droz, early Soho, struck in bronzed copper, laureate bust right, DROZ F incuse on truncation, rev. Britannia seated left, DR. F. in exergue, lettered edge, 16.20g, 6h (cf. BMC [Peck] 955; Selig 1328), about extremely fine, extremely rare.
Peck does not list this variety in bronzed copper. The Selig example (Spink auction 131, 2 March 1999, lot 1328), was listed as BMC 955A, and was described as extremely rare with the footnote 'this is the second specimen we have seen'. It sold for £350
