(g) NGC PF62-PF64 | George IV (1820-1830), Proof Set, 1826 (11), Five-Pounds to Half-Sovereign, Crown to Sixpence, Penny to Farthing, a lovely honest original set, in official mint case of issue (11), including: , i) Proof Five-Pounds, 1826 SEPTIMO, edge lettered downwards, 39.74g, 6h, faint cabinet friction in otherwise brilliant fields, pools of handsomely honest orange-tone cloaking peripheries and rims, softer cameo definition to portrait, good extremely fine and highly sought after; , ii) Proof Two-Pounds, 1826 SEPTIMO, 15.98g, 7h, highly superficial pecks to cheek as wisps of cabinet friction in otherwise brilliant fields, the portrait in pleasant contrast, a wholesome example, a bold extremely fine; iii) , Proof Sovereign, 1826, rev. eight hearts, edge milled, 7.99g, 6h, faint handling marks in otherwise brilliant fields, wisps of natural orange tone ensnaring recesses, otherwise a pleasing extremely fine; , iv) Proof Half-Sovereign, 1826, 'extra tuft', edge milled, 4.00g, 6h, the deftest hint of cabinet definition, otherwise a brilliant gem, good extremely fine with sharp eye appeal; , v) Pattern Proof Crown, 1826 SEPTIMO, edge lettered downwards, 28.17g, 7h, some light fingermarks in otherwise brilliant fields, the obverse surfaces wrapped in dappled blue iridescence, the reverse accentuated further still by a purplish-blue 'bullseye' towards central devices, good extremely fine; , vi) Proof Halfcrown, 1826, 14.13g, 6h, a small mark on R, otherwise a lovely cabinet specimen with original mint bloom accentuated by petrol blue-purple tone, good extremely fine; vii) , Proof Shilling, 1826, edge milled, 5.66g, 7h, brilliant and toned, some speckling otherwise an imposing specimen, good extremely fine; , viii) Proof Sixpence, 1826, edge milled, 2.84g, 7h, some residue on neck, otherwise brilliant and toned, a pleasingly bold extremely fine; , ix) Bronzed Proof Penny, 1826, rev. Rev. C, thick raised line on saltire, edge plain, 19.48g, 12h (Peck 1426), matte surfaces otherwise brilliant, a scarcer variety, good extremely fine to much as struck; , x) Bronzed Proof Halfpenny, 1826, rev. Rev.
