Hadrian AR Cistophorus of uncertain mint, Asia. Circa AD 128-132. HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS P P, laureate head to right, slight drapery on far shoulder / Triumphal arch surmounted by figure raising hand and holding sceptre, flanked by statues of horses prancing to left and to right; COS - III across fields. RPC -; RIC -; Metcalf, Cistophori -; RSC -; cf. CNG 91, 897 (different bust type). 10.34g, 28mm, 6h.

Very Fine. Unique and unpublished.

The CNG example cited above is also unique and unpublished. It differs from this current example on bust type but is otherwise of very similar style and sold for $3,250 in 2012.
