Weight of 1-nomisma (Bronze, 18x17x1.5 mm, 4.18 g), a square coin weight with plain edges, made from an earlier coin, cut down and partially smoothed flat. Large N with a trefoil of pellets in each end. Pellet on upper and lower field. Rev. COL AVGO TROAD She-wolf standing right, looking back, suckling the twins Romulus and Remus. An unusual Byzantine weight made from a 3rd century Roman coin from Alexandria Troas. Very fine.
