BYZANTINE SEALS. Leo imperial spatharios and logothetes tou dromou, circa 8th century. Seal or Bulla (Lead, 28 mm, 18.08 g, 12 h). Cruciform monogram formed by the letters of the invocation ΘΕΟΤΟKΕ BOHΘEI; in the fields, TΩ - ΔΟY/ΛΩ - COY "(Virgin Mary, please aid your servant)" . Rev. ΛΕΟ/ΝΤΙ B'A/CΠAΘAs S / ΛOΓOΘES/ TOY ΔPΟ/ΜΟY in six lines within round dotted border. BZS.1955.1.1023. Cf. Laurent II, 423. Struck slightly off centre, otherwise, nearly very fine.
