BYZANTINE. Uncertain Metropolitan of Tarsus(?). Circa 7th century. PB Seal (26mm, 17.40 g, 12h). Facing bust of St. Paul; O/AΓ/IO/C to left; Π/AV/ΛO/C to right; + TAPC/OV in two lines in exergue / Cruciform invocative monogram. Cf. BLS I 1258 and 1307 (for similar examples); cf. CNG 501, lot 428 (same). Brown, gray, and red surfaces, some roughness. VF.
