Near Extremely Fine; low relief, as made; minor edge bruise at 11' obverse.

Carriere was a late 19th, early 20th century painter, considered a French symbolist, who was a friend of Rodin and apparently someone who influenced Picasso's Blue Period. His ethereal style was produced in medallic form by Ovide Yencesse, an early 20th century medallist.
