Bavaria. Maximilian II 2 Taler 1864 MS64 NGC, Munich mint, KM862, Dav-608, AKS-148, Thun-100. A top-tier and thoroughly pleasing representative of this elusive type, yielding an impression of quality to even the most discerning of collectors. Semi-Prooflike and laden with ample die polish that full encompasses the expanses, projecting the lightly frosted bust and crowned arms towards the viewer. Light amber hues weave throughout the legends and illuminate only the most minor imperfections that define the grade. Currently tied for the finest certified with two others across both major grading services and certainly a rarity when encountered so fine.
