Bavaria. Ludwig II Taler 1865 UNC Details (Obverse Cleaned) NGC, Munich mint, KM869, Dav-609, AKS-173, Thun-102. Exceptionally handsome for its assigned grade, with a Prooflike appeal, clearly the result of careful planchet preparation and striking, a considerable flash presiding over the fields despite the scattered hairlines that provide the grounds for the technical qualifier. Still a rather original coin on the whole, and proving quite engaging on the reverse owing to a unique pull-away effect amid coppery-orange toning.
