German States
Brunswick. Free City 2/3 Taler (Gulden) 1675-IGB AU58 NGC, Brunswick mint, KM66.2, Dav-451, Knyphausen-4910, Jesse-271. Variety with lion under unornamented arch. With the name and titles of Rudolf August of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel. An impressive if characteristically crudely produced example of this short-lived type, representing only the second occasion we have had to offer a representative. Despite typical irregularities in the flan from the annealing process, wear on the whole appears quite minimal and confined to the highest points of the design.
Ex. Virgil Brand Collection, Part 5 (Leu Numismatik Auction 70, October 1997, Lot 6512) From the Cape Coral Collection of German Coins, Part I
