Brunswick-Lüneburg-Calenberg. Johann Friedrich 2/3 Taler (Gulden) 1677 MS65 NGC, Hannover mint, KM188.2, Dav-380, Knyphausen-2437, Welter-1731. Variety with date flanking small "2/3" denomination. Showcasing a superior aesthetic quality in spite of its somewhat flatly struck highpoints, with nearly the whole of the devices contoured by eye-catching cobalt tone. Despite having been produced from a somewhat rusty pair of dies, the offering has not suffered the least in its execution, even the usual annealing flaws that so often plague the type appearing quite minimal hear and confined to the waves on the reverse.
