Brunswick-Lüneburg-Calenberg-Hannover. George III of England "Mining" Taler 1774-LCR MS64 NGC, Zellerfeld mint, KM369, Dav-2110, Schön-341 (under Hannover), Müseler-499, Knyphausen-3545, Welter-2805, Preussag Collection-315. Celebrating the yield of the Güte des Herrn ("Goodness of the Lord") Mine. Undeniably gorgeous and a perfect example of the unique beauty encompassing the German Mining Taler series. Coupling a classic mining scene with the heraldic arms of the House of Hannover, the coin misses no opportunity to silhouette its motifs in a full rainbow of vibrant hues, spanning the spectrum from lapis lazuli to seafoam, gold, orange peel, and violet. The sole example of the date we have ever offered, we would note that this is one of the few mining types from Brunswick-Lüneburg that was seemingly missing from the Brand Collection, and was similarly not present in the cabinets of Goodman or Köhlmoos. Unsurprisingly the finest yet certified, and the only representative that either service records having awarded with soundly Mint State certification.
