Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel. Karl I "Mining" Taler 1747-IBH MS63 NGC, Zellerfeld mint, KM921, Dav-2156, Schön-282, Müseler-301, Welter-2730. Always a hotly-contested "mining" issue and one in a series originating from Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, the piece at hand commemorating the yield from the White Swan mine. Bestowed an advanced visual character by way of a pervasive originality coating both faces. Laudably bold with every feature rendered clearly upon the lightly reflective expanses, while mint flash concentrates towards the protected regions of the legends. An iconic depiction of a swan, the mine's namesake, graces the obverse while a pair of wild men flank a crowned shield on the reverse, making for one of the most visually interesting compositions within the entire Taler series. The sole "Top Pop" between NGC and PCGS and deserving of a highlight status for any collector of the mining series.
