Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel. Karl I "Mining" Taler 1752-IBH AU58 NGC, Zellerfeld mint, KM923.2, Dav-2162, Schön-304, Müseler-313, Welter-2727. Celebrating the yield of the Lautenthals Glück mine. Hardly a piece with which a flaw of any notable consequence can be found--a considerable statement given the coin's just shy of Mint State designation from NGC; and yet it rings true to an astonishing degree. A bit flat to the highest points as is usual for these mining issues, a bright-dark contrast in the tone between the devices and fields has rendered a palpable visual pull to the offering, a feature only strengthened by salt-white silhouettes along the raised elements. Very much a representative that stands on a knife's edge of finer certification.
