Friedberg. Johann Eitel II Taler 1747-CPS MS65+ NGC, Clausthal mint, KM66, Dav-2250, Schön-2, Lejeune-77. An offer which eludes all attempts to put its captivating visual presence into words. Utterly and completely deserving of a "star" for its outstanding eye appeal, the fields are entirely replete with a wash of watery brilliance, this igniting a full aurora of overwhelmingly turquoise coloration that contains hints of iridescent notes as it wells at the outer registers. On the reverse, this palette intensifies as a halo framing the double-headed eagle, while more lilac hues emerge towards the center. Seemingly lavished with the utmost care, likely just a small area of tiny scratches at the knight's left shoulder precludes a fully '66 grade, a comment which is to be taken as hair-splitting, considering that the Millennia example was a mere MS62.
