Hannover. Georg V Taler 1852-B MS66 NGC, Hannover mint, KM220, Dav-678, AKS-158, Thun-170. A typically prolific and unremarkable issue which nonetheless will make any viewer stop and pause at this level of preservation. Quite simply blowing the competition out of the water, of the mere 7 straight-graded examples between NGC and PCGS combined, the next finest ranks a full 2 grade points lower. Slightly mottled in its obverse toning palette with peripheral notes of salt-white, it is the reverse which is particularly transfixing, owing to a deep strike rendered medallic-like reliefs. Difficult to imagine meaningfully finer, and a true coin for the connoisseur.
