Hildesheim. Free City Taler 1626-(e) MS65 NGC, Hildesheim mint, KM195.3, Dav-5420, Knyphausen-5557, Wilmersdörffer-10367 var., Cappe-Unl. With the name and titles of Ferdinand II. Quite likely as perfect a specimen as one could ever hope to locate for a city Taler of this vintage, with perhaps just a minor die shift at the end of the obverse legend giving any indication that this coin was produced nearly 4 centuries ago. Perfectly round and well-centered, a light golden patina to otherwise graphite surfaces picks out the raised features, endowing the offering with a medallic feel that is of a presentation-worthy quality.
