Lippe-Detmold. Paul Alexander Leopold 2 Taler (3-1/2 Gulden) 1843-A MS65 Prooflike NGC, Berlin mint, KM250, Dav-724, AKS-5, Thun-212. Mintage: 16,800. As deeply Prooflike as one could expect to find short of a fully Proof designation, an honor to date awarded to just a single issue from this principality (also in this sale). Besting the Rockaway example by a point as the top graded--no small feat for a Double Taler--and certainly one of the most special pieces that the type collector could hope to acquire for the issue.
