German States
Löwenberg. Free City Taler 1615-HR AU55 NGC, Löwenberg mint, KM5, Dav-5429, Saurma-Jeltsch-83, F&S-3598. A seldom-seen and conditionally sensitive issue struck to commemorate a shooting festival held in the city in 1615. Virtually Mint State and bound only by what is construed as highpoint friction to the eagle's feathers that perhaps may just be weakness, while protected recesses relaying ample reflectivity one comes to expect from finer designations. A representative that admits few flaws even to the scrupulous eye, decorated in a pervasive gunmetal-tinged patina serving to elevate outstanding originality. Only offered once or so a year and generally in lesser states of preservation, we anticipate an elevated collector interest for the sole certified and potentially finest extant example of this scarce type.
