Diademed head of Mithradates VI right, with windswept hair / BAΣΙΛEΩΣ / MIΘPAΔATOY / EYΠATOPOΣ, stag standing left on ground line, head lowered to graze; star within crescent above, IΣ (year) above PΔK monogram; A (month 1) in exergue; all within Dionysiac wreath. De Callataÿ p. 15. Cf. SNG Copenhagen 234. Deep cabinet toning with a golden sheen surrounding all of the devices. Powerfully executed portrait with each lock of hair in high relief. A magnificent coin in hand.
