PHOENICIA. Tyre. Ca. 126/5 BC-AD 65/6. AR shekel (23mm, 14.29 gm, 1h). NGC Choice AU 4/5 - 5/5. Dated Civic Year 131 (AD 5/6). Laureate bust of Melqart right, lion skin tied around neck / ΤΥPΟΥ ΙΕΡΑΣ-ΚΑΙ ΑΣΥΛΟΥ, eagle standing left on prow, palm over right wing; PΛA (date) above club in left field left, KP over IΞZ monogram in right; bet (Phoenician) between legs. DCA Tyre 471 and 473. Appears to be overstruck, with evidence of host coin at 2h. Softly toned with peachy hues on a satiny flan.
